Joy Staveley

Joy Staveley has been a small business owner since 1978. She and her husband, Gaylord, operate a Whitewater Rafting business in Flagstaff, and an RV Park and campground by Jacob Lake, AZ. Having been appointed by two past Governors, Joy served a 12- year term on the Board of the Arizona State Compensation fund. In 1995 Senator Jon Kyl appointed Joy as his Delegate to the Whitehouse Conference on Small business where Joy served as the State's Environmental Chairperson. In 1997 Joy was the recipient of the ATHENA Award, to honor a Business Woman of the year. Joy is a past Chairwoman of the Flagstaff Chamber, has chaired its Government Affairs Committee, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Coconino County Republican Committee. Joy served several years on the Board of First State Bank, and currently serves on the State Advisory Board of Arizona Friends of Small Business, the Advisory Board of Coconino County's Small Business Development Center, and the Guardian Advisory Board of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). Joy serves as NFIB's Northern Arizona area action Chairwoman. Joy received NFIB's Outstanding Service award in 2002, and in 2006 received NFIB's Small Business Champion of the year award for Arizona. Joy is a 2013 graduate of the Dodie Londen, National Excellence in Public Service Leadership Program. Joy received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Cal State Northridge. Prior to meeting and marrying her husband, Gaylord, Joy was Vice President and Branch Manager for Coldwell Banker Escrow, Beverly Hills, CA.
