Publisher, Arizona Daily Sun

Doug Bauer has been publisher of the Arizona Daily Sun since Feb. 2024. He previously served as chief strategy officer for Idaho-based TPC Holdings Inc., where he led legacy print and digital advertising operations for the Lewiston Tribune and Moscow-Pullman Daily News, and oversaw the development of several new divisions, including a digital marketing agency and a digital billboard network.
Bauer transitioned to the business side of publishing in 2017 after serving as managing editor of the Tribune for eight years. Over his 33-year journalism career, he has held leadership roles across both editorial and revenue departments, giving him a comprehensive view of the challenges and opportunities facing local news. His work has focused on evolving business models to support sustainable journalism in regional markets.
Bauer aims to grow the Daily Sun’s reach and strengthen its print, digital, and social offerings. He sees deep community engagement and innovation as key to the paper’s future and is excited to bring his strategic focus to Flagstaff and the greater northern Arizona region.
Bauer and his wife, Joy, have three children.
