Susan Schroeder recently retired from Grand Canyon Conservancy as the Chief Executive Officer a position she held since 2008. Her knowledge and experience in organizational development, fundraising, strategic planning, and nonprofit governance led to significant organizational growth. Prior to that, she spent 18 years at Northern Arizona University (NAU) where she held leadership positions in the Center for Sustainable Environments, University Advancement and the NAU Foundation. Previously, she was a partner in a research consulting firm that specialized in tourism and recreation consumer research.
Susan served on the NALA board and chaired the Committee on Environmental Stewardship.
Currently, Susan serves on the board of Eastern National, an organization dedicated to
promoting the public’s understanding and support of America’s national parks. Her recent board positions include the Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff and the steering committee of the National Friends Alliance, a network of national park philanthropic partners.
