Carl DeRosa is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Northern Arizona Orthopaedics (NAO), northern Arizona’s oldest and largest orthopedic physician practice (www.NorthAzOrtho.com).  He helped develop the NAO Specialty Centers which provide a full spectrum of orthopaedic care:  Sports Medicine, Spine and Pain, Foot and Ankle, Hand, Adult Reconstructive/Joint Replacement, and Urgent Ortho. 

 

Carl has been a resident of Flagstaff since 1979, at which time he was recruited from the University of California, Davis, to help start the Physical Therapy Program at Northern Arizona University, a Program which has received numerous national accolades.  He also started DeRosa Physical Therapy in 1982 and that Practice, under the guidance of his wife Marlene,  is the the largest physical therapy private practice in northern Arizona (www.DPTCenter.com) with four locations in the Flagstaff community. Dr. DeRosa’s other business enterprise in Flagstaff is co-ownership of Summit Fitness and Mountain Heart Wellness (www.thesummitflagstaff.com)  a state of the art fitness and wellness facility.  Because of his extensive involvement in the health care industry, he is often sought as a consultant for businesses and educational programs.

 

Carl has numerous publications including journal articles, book chapters, and is the author of several books.  He has lectured nationally and internationally in topics ranging from health care economics, orthopaedics, and physical therapy business to clinical sciences. He has received honors and recognition for his service roles to his professions.

 

Carl and his wife Marlene, who is a physical therapist and President of DeRosa Physical Therapy, have 3 children who were all raised in Flagstaff and have gone on to successful professional careers of their own.  Carl and Marlene enjoy travel, sports, and all of the outdoor experiences that Flagstaff is famous for.
