LaVelle is a charter member of Northern Arizona Leadership Alliance and a 3rd generation native of Flagstaff. He has worked in the auto industry for more than 50 years. He is a Past President of the Arizona Automobile Dealers Association. In the course of his decades in Flagstaff, LaVelle has served the community and the state in many capacities. For example, he is a Past Chairman of the Governor’s small business advisory council, a member and Past Chairman of the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, and Director Emeritus and a Past President of the Coconino Community College Foundation. LaVelle played key roles in the establishment of the Flagstaff Family YMCA and the Northern Arizona Center for Entrepreneurship and Technologies (NACET). Along with his wife, Jan, LaVelle chaired the 2010 United Way Campaign. He has served as a member of the Governor’s P-20 Council on Education and he is a member and Past President of the Flagstaff Rotary Club.
